Assistant Professor

Introduction:
Dr. Atiyeh joined the department in July 2008. Prior to joining Oklahoma State University, Dr. Atiyeh held several academic and industrial R&D positions in Canada and abroad. He specializes in fermentation technology and bioconversion of raw materials into fuels and other useful products. He also worked on fuel cells design and testing and hydrogen storage materials.

M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Jordan University of Science and Technology (1995)
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, University of Ottawa, Canada (2003)

Areas of Specialization:
Development of sustainable energy alternatives such as biofuels and biogas
Development of bioprocesses for the production of various products
Waste minimization and waste treatment

Senior member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE): Food, Pharmaceutical, and Bioengineering Division
Licensed Professional Engineer by Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
